What a thrill to watch Stephen Sackur's "Hardtalk" intervew with US Congressman Barney Frank. Real, open language - not a hesitation in sight. In the UK, politicans only talk without hesitation when they have left office and have nothing to gain or lose. Can't help thinking as I watched the interview that any politican in the UK who spoke with ease like this would be considered exceptional. On 4th September 1997 I wrapped a Victorian serving dish in a newspaper to move to a new house. I didn't wrap it too well because I knew that in 24 hours I would be unwrapping it again. Right now I should be working on three documents for separate programmes ready to implement early next year but......its the World Cup and this means that countries all over the world get to witness living art and I am distracted. Its a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the passion, energy, anticipation and gravitas of this game.
